Prospective Students Frequently Asked Questions

What factors should influence a career choice?

It is essential that you should consider two broad areas! Yourself and the Occupation. This means that you must know yourself - physically, mentally, socially, your aptitudes, interests, and abilities. You must try to match as closely as possible your qualifications with the job requirements. The better the match, the better your chances of succeeding. A word of caution - Do not try to fit square pegs in round holes. It just will not work.

Choosing a career is on going and a time consuming process. You may make several choices before you finally settle on the one field of endeavor which seems best suited to your interests and abilities. Do not be discouraged if you cannot decide too quickly. Furthermore, some people can be happy in one of several fields or occupations.

You need to know more about careers. This takes time, study and effort, but it is certainly necessary and rewarding. Remember it is your career and therefore your responsibility to research and explore careers. Keep in mind that everyone has some latent hidden talent - your job is to discover it, identify and explore this talent.
