Welcome
to the College of Engineering website. As the technological age continues
to spawn new advancements in technology, the College of Engineering is
committed to teaching and instructing masterminds of the future. The college
has created an environment of academic stability and flexibility to meet
the challenges of a changing world. Our students learn to build and create
the world they live in through entrepreneurship, coursework, research,
and practical work experience.
Our students continue to succeed both academically and professionally. They have implemented their creativity by participating in design competitions. Our students have won several national and international competitions and received numerous prestigious awards.
Outside recognition for research and innovation continues to increase.
The news of growth for the College of Engineering concerns our extensive research enterprise. Annual funding for research continues to increase at an almost exponential rate, with current external funding levels approximately twenty times greater than in the past. Our faculty members continue to take the lead in developing cutting-edge programs and projects. I couldn’t be prouder of the world-class research program that we have developed at the College, and of the trust placed in us by outside sponsors. Our success is attributed to their endless efforts and participation of faculty such as Drs. Baran (NIH), Bai (Army), Biswas (NSF), Butz (NSF), Boufadel (EPA), Cooper (NSF), Kargbo(EPA), Sendaula (US Navy), Yantorno (USAF), etc. This represents an impressive improvement over the previous years. Our graduate programs continue to grow thanks to successful implementation of certificate programs at the Fort Washington campus.
Our experience in building connections among disciplines provides a strong foundation for the college to interact more closely with the other colleges of Temple University. This interaction will help create an environment within which more interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary curricula can be cultivated. It is our strategic goal to expand multidisciplinary collaboration in areas such as Bioengineering, Environmental Engineering and Computer Engineering. It is our intent as a college to continue innovating to keep us at the leading edge of education and research. My highest priority is to build a strong financial and educational foundation upon which we can provide a continuous and reliable supply of resources for maintaining modern teaching and research environment. Without your support and our commitment to excellence, we cannot enable many curious and enthusiastic young people to have the opportunity to achieve an engineering and engineering technology degree.
Thanks for visiting us! I hope to meet with you soon.
Sincerely,
Keya Sadeghipour
